What is the red arrow pointing to in the photo? What system is it for and which TAV is it shown on? I'm reassembling after performing the major service (belts, cam seals, etc, on my '84 308 QV). I was diligent before hand about taking photos before and throughout each step and labeling everything. Every piece that came off the car went into a bag labeled with the TAV, part #s, date, etc. All hoses and connections were labeled. This is the only anomaly. I do not have another photo from a different angle of this piece and I don't have the hoses associated with this part labeled. I've searched through all the TAVs and can't find this, it's not on the Blow-By, Evap, Oil or Fuel system TAVs. It's not the brake system either. Can anyone offer some guidance? I believe the hose running from it to under the throttle plenum runs into either the throttle plenum on the passenger side, or the air filter box. Off the other side heading towards the driver's seat, I believe that runs into the fuel rail. Then there is a connection at the front of this white cap, as well as what appears to be a vacuum connection on top (the small tit on top of the cap). Not sure about the vacuum connection though because all of these have been accounted for already. As part of this service, I've changed every hose on the car (thank you Dave Helms) and I had everything else labeled and the entire process went very smooth, not sure what happened here and why I didn't label this piece and the hose connections. It is the cut-off valve (item A) in the 307/84 OM figure: Image Unavailable, Please Login If you have all the large air hoses hooked up correctly to the cut-off valve (and the one on the right side of the "T" in your photo doesn't look to be because the other end should go to the check valve on the 1-4 bank), but do not have the small vacuum hose (from the electrovalve) attached, your air injection system would just always be "off". On a complete/stock US '84-'84 308QV, the air injection system is "off" if the oil temp is really cold (below 15 deg C); "on" when the oil temp is above 25 deg C (or has never fallen below 15 deg C) and the water temp is still below 57 deg C; and "off" when the water temp is above 57 deg C. Are you missing the electrovalve (item E) and the differential pressure switch (item D)?
Thank you Steve. I didn't think I had that diagram so I wasn't certain. The photo I attached above is misleading as the hose at that point was just stuffed under the plenum when I took the picture as I was in process of moving some things out of the way. However it is not connected to anything there. Also, all the components (A, B, B, C, C, D and E) are in place - the car is stock, I was looking for a definitive diagram as this wasn't shown in any of the TAVs I have in the "Spare Parts Manual". The closest is TAV 9 - Air Pump, however this TAV seems to be specific to the 1983 model QV, and many parts in that TAV have been replaced by the Air Injection System as shown in your diagram. I then checked my 308QV and Mondial QV workshop manuals, and nothing was shown in those. That's when I posted this thread. I never thought to check the owners manual, thanks for pointing that out. This does beg the question, what if Part A had to be replaced, how does one go about finding the part number if it is not shown in any of the TAVs? This is rhetorical, not expecting an answer (other than call Danial at Ricambi or Serio at Ted Rutlands). Phil
There are different SPCs for a US '83 vs US '84-'85 308QV -- you just don't have the right one Unfortunately, the on-line 308QV SPCs at both Ricambi and Eurospares are only for euro 308QV. FerrariUK was the only place who had the US version 308QV SPCs on-line, but they faded away some years ago.
