I'm a new member looking to purchase my first Ferrari. I want a 308 QV with a strong preference for a red GTB. I'm looking for a driver - I don't need concourse quality nor do I want to tackle a long restoration project. Since I'm a new member and that's usually a red flag for a community like this, I thought I'd introduce myself a bit. I'm a software developer living in the Seattle area (the rain here is a big part of why I prefer a GTB). This would not be my first classic car. I'm currently the proud owner of a 1973 Porsche 911 S Targa with only 43K miles - what I would call an unmolested survivor (barring a respray and some parts that had to be replaced over the years). It's a one-family car purchased by my dad years ago, and I've enjoyed it all my life. I don't think I'll ever sell it, but it's getting too valuable to just take out for a spin. The Ferrari would be a fun weekend toy. I'm not a flipper, although I'm sure flippers always say that. I don't plan on keeping the 308 forever, but it will be a passion project for some time. I will do maintenance and repairs myself and hopefully leave the car better than I found it. Feel free to reply to the thread or PM me. thanks.
This 1983 308 GTSi will be coming on the market within a few weeks. 49,xxx mile car. It is currently undergoing a complete service including all belts, fluids and inspection to assure the new owner the reliability of this car. Located in Sherman Oaks Calif. The asking price will be $ 41,500 PM or email [email protected]
I got it figured out. Here is a picture of the the car. More details and more pictures when it returns from service in a few weeks. Thanks Image Unavailable, Please Login
If pressed to choose a number I would say under 40. Beyond that I just wouldn't be motivated to choose a 308. That may or may not be realistic, but if it's unrealistic that would be good feedback to have! Maybe I'm way off in terms of the 308's value and availability. I am willing to accept flaws provided the car is mechanically solid with good service records and a relatively recent major service.
My 1983 GTS, Rosso Corsa/tan, less than 25K miles, is for sale at Norwood Performance in Dallas...a really nice car. Call James Patterson at 972-831-8111.
Thanks for the heads up. Do you happen to have any more information or pictures you can share via forum/PM?
Here is a nice GTB. Its interior is red and the outside is grigio. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferraris/442617-1981-308-gtb-mint-special.html
That's a beautiful car! The color isn't necessarily for me, but I appreciate the reply. Good luck with the sale.
I've had the opportunity to check out some great cars, but so far I haven't found the perfect one for me. I'm still on the hunt, still prefer a GTB but will consider all QV's. I will pay a reasonable finder's fee if anyone knows of a car that's available privately.
I have no affiliation with this car and I don't know anything about it. I know it's a GTS but just thought I would post it. I think it was put on Auto Trader within the last day or so. Cars for Sale: 1983 Ferrari 308 GTS in Memphis, TN 38120: Convertible Details - 371196841 - AutoTrader.com
Best of luck with your search. Your probably going to have to stretch your budget some, I believe a nice driver GTB QV needing very little for under $42k has passed us up some months ago..
Theres a Euro QV thread in the 308/328 section. You might want to poke around there to see if there are any that might be available for purchase. I don't know if any US 308 QV GTB's were imported into the US market. I think they were all GTS's. But I agree with milano, finding a 308 QV GTB for under $40k will unlikely. -F
Yeah I think a GTB will be too hard to find. There are a few Euro GTS cars around though! The more I see the GTS the more I like it.
Call the first number in my ads, there is a Euro QV out there at the ranch I don't own it. Red/black I know they are looking for $50K. Firm IIRC QA1s, lowered, Sanden A/C conversion and Texas strength blower motors! Nice car, may already be sold
I am looking for the same thing, only the GTS. Any ideas of where to go. I want anything that is not a black exterior or a tan interior. Other than that, I would prefer the scoop on the front end.........any leads or ideas that you came across?
For me it just came down to legwork. Every day I checked all the dealer sites, craigslist, eBay, AutoTrader, etc. I also kept up with the forum and reached out to members who offered help or talked about selling their car. In the end I bought Euro Quattro's car before it officially hit the market. I suspect a lot of cars change hands that way. If I hear of another I'll let you know. There are a bunch on the market right now, so you might want to start a thread and give more specifics. There are a ton of red cars that fit your parameters. Have you checked them out?
