I have the opportunity to purchase ,at a low price, a recored 308 radiator, which a local shop did for a guy, who never picked it up. The demensions are the same as those on my '85 308 , as well as mounting brackets, etc. However, the top of the radiator doesn't have "Ferrari" stamped on it as mine does. It has instead, "Rami", or something like that stamped on it and a small stamp reads something like "portacinni" (sp?).

Does anyone know if there are any differences in 308 radiators for different years? The rest of it, besides the marking, seems identical. I also noticed 2 brackets at the lower bottom of the radiator. I didn't think that there were any bolts except the 2 at the top. What do they bolt to? With that bracket in place it appeears that it would be difficult to clear the condensor/radiator via lifting it straight up. Does the lower spoiler need to be removed in order to remove the radiator?

What did it cost to recore the radiator?

rami is the OEM supplier...my 78 has the rami stamp on it..later cars are stamped with the ferrari name..radiator looks identical...not sure about the brackets you mention...front spoiler must come off...while it looks like the radiator would slide right out, it does require a bit off effort...after removing the spoiler and the associated bolts, the only way I was able to break it free (it is sandwiched between the frame/radiator supports with some thin rubber) after 25years of sitting in the same spot..was to place a bottle jack and block of wood under the radiator and press it out. after cleaning the radiator support and the rubber stuff with some armour-all the radiator will slide back in with ease.

This particular radiator was recored at a cost of $350. Since it's been sittting in the shop for a couple of years, the shop owner will sell it for $200. He reports that it's entirely new inside --the owner just disappeared.

Thanks, Pcelenta. Do you recall if there are bolts at the lower end of the radiator as well as the two up-top?

the only bolts on the lower portion were for the a/c condensor...other than that the lower radiator jugs are sandwiched with some thin rubber around these little pockets in the frame...after years of corosion and other gunk..mine wouldn't just slide out and required the use of a bottle jack and wooden block like I mentioned...my car is a 78 gts..don't think they changed it much if at all with the later cars. regards, Paul
