    Can anyone tell me

    1) Are the rear Koni's on the 308 gtb/s and those on the 308gt4 the same part?

    2) anyone any experience of rebuilding Koni's versus replacing them, is it cheaper and do they perform as well?

If they are more then 10 years old , I would buy new. Rebuild costs are not worth it. My 2C

As far as I recall, the GT4 and early GTB (14 inch wheels) and late GTB (16 inch wheels) all use different shocks.
One advantage of re-building is that you can have different valving put in, adjustable collars etc. if you chose to go down this route.
Most new shocks are for the later 16 inch rims.
    Yes, they'll work fine.

Because of this, I have never understood why people would bother to rebuild them

It probably costs at least $20 to ship them out for the rebuild. If so, why bother.

I agree about buying new ones but be sure you check the price of bushings. I was checking out new ones and the price was without bushing. The sales guy said Konis were used on so many applications that they are priced without bushings and the bustings were about $50 ($25 each end) if I remember correctly.
