Hi All, finishing off my suspension rebuild and I am replacing the rear outer bushings too. They were a mess. Lots of rust, pins mashed due to previous bad workmanship and the rubbers weren't much good either. I've got a replacement set from Superformance (see attached). The inner metal sleeve glides through the outer bushing smoothly before fitting. But after fitting them to the A arms the inner sleeve is really tight to get in. I assume there must be some crush from the arm? Has anyone experienced this before? And what did you done? Cheers BB

Why not just use the factory bushings, I have to say, I also rebuilt the entire suspension on my 89, 328 . I used all factory A ARM bushings as well as all new factory shocks and all new factory shock bushings without a problem. My original suspension had 99 k miles, and it was working great up to that point. These 3x8s have such great suspensions that trying to use aftermarket is not going to make any difference at least as far as the bushings are concerned other than causing the car to have a lousy hard ride. The factory ones have the car handling and riding with perfect balance, just like from new. When I changed my motor mounts, thats when I really felt the car get back to the way it was from new. I also think that running 17s with modern super sticky high performance tires will have your car handing a good deal better than before. When these cars came out, tire technology was not up to the 3x8s handling capability.

    Thank you
