Ummm... that's not a maintenance piece, you know... ;)

Sounds like there's a story we need to hear!

To add some useful content, you can always try Maranello Auto Parts http://www.maranelloautoparts.com/
Evans Auto http://www.evansauto.com/ or Dennis McCann http://allferrariparts.com/ might have something available, too. But there's already a sticky thread in here with places to get parts, I was just trying to justify a post asking for the reason!

a cheap A$$ Ferrari stub axle snapped on it a few years back at Lime Rock leaving me with a 3 wheeled Ferrari. Strange handling characteristics, felt like it was on casters :)

At the risk of sounding like a complete doofus, what's a rear upright?

The "rear upright" is the large aluminum casting that goes between the upper and lower control arms at their outboard ends and contains the rear axle/hub. I think it could also be referred to as the "rear axle housing".
(with my apologies to the original poster of this picture -- I can't recall who to credit).

William, the stub is known to be a challenge and my biggest fear on the track is having this break. Strange Engineering at one time built a better unit, yet have heard they stopped making them. Did you find a good substitute/fix or ???? Am curious as the new grippier tires and hard use may mean the ones on the 1985 308GTS here may go one day and would like to replace them sooner rather than later. MANY THANKS as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated.
