The door mounted rear view mirrors are not tight enough to stay level during breif drives. Is there an adjustment I can do to remedy this situation?

Do you have round ones or square?

The square ones have a ball joint in the accordian boot, sounds like it could be loose..

The round ones only go up and down on it's mounting axis, tighten the front screw VERY carefully to clamp those in place!

ReOriginals has new ones and so do many Ducati bike shops....

For the QV and later models there is a plastic cover on the forward base of the mirror, pry that plastic cover and you will see an allen screw that goes through the mirror stem that pivot, tighten it clockwise but not too much as you can strip the allen hole, OR since they do come loose every now and then you remove the screw completely and apply a small drop of Loctite thehen thighten it back up.

    Thanks Mike
I did see the cover in front of the mirror. I thought removing the cover and tightening a screw might be the answer. This forum and responses by people like yourself gives myself and others the confidence to proceed with your recomendation.

    Thanks again,

The screws will likely work loose again....remove the screw and apply some blue Loctite to the threads, and reinstall. It will hold it's adjustment much longer this way. I had to do this on both my previous 308 and 328.

I've got the round mirrors and don't like them. I mostly don't pay attention to them. For one thing they don't adjust to my liking. I know abut the competition adjustments and they don't do it. For another thing they fall and sag on long drives and they seem to be doing it more and more. I tried to tighten the screw on the front but it doesn't tighten anymore and I'm afraid of stripping the screw and really be screwed. So I'm looking into another style of mirror. I'm wondering if the square mirrors from the later models can mount in the same holes as the round mirrors? I'm also willing to go with a non Ferrari mirror but can't find one that I like and looks close to the original. Anyone know any of the answers to these questions?
