Hello, This is my very first post, I'm so excited . . I'm looking at a "project" 308 GTB and was wondering if someone could post or e-mail me a closeup photo of your side glass and gas filler "vent" behind the driver window? I can't seem to find a "tight shot" on the internet or the forum and as a previous (1982) GTS "family", I really never took notice of the detail in the GTB sideglass. I did find a post about someone who converted the GTS louver to the GTB sideglass on his GTS but can't seem to find that post any longer. I'm sure I have it somewhere. This car is pretty rough (as far as missing items) but overall in pretty solid shape. At some point, the owner wanted to do a GTO conversion on it and picked up (what looks to me as) 348 side glass to try to modify. Thanks for any help.
Thanks Bob, I was actually looking for a real "tight" closeup of just the glass and trim but I always enjoy seeing 308's and 328's . I was told in the past that the cars with the lower body painted a different color / black was a "boxer" paint scheme? Is that the correct term? Nice car. Anybody with some "ultra-close-up" pics of the side glass would be great if anyone has them.
i hope this helps. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
TatCat, Thanks so much. That's exactly what I was looking for. The glass the current owner has (now comparing it to your pics) does indeed look like 348 glass. The glass seems "flatter" on the 308's. I keep getting conflicting opinions on the subject. Some people who I have spoken to suggest just going with the GTS Vents. While I like the GTS Vents, they just seem a bit "off" to me without a targa top (or at the very least, a black roof to simulate one). I'd rather just "get it back to glass" if I pick up this car. Those pics are a big help, especially the outside trim portion. Thanks Again,
Thanks. I see you already have the pics. My car was painted that way when I purchased it. I've been considering putting a Euro front valience on it and if I do then I'll repaint the bottom back to red. It's red underneath all that black paint. There's so many other things I want to do first that paint work is pretty far down the list. Bob Wassam
