Bored at work and came upon this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1984-308-GTSI-Ferrari_W0QQitemZ270021970094QQihZ017QQcategoryZ6212QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Obviously if it's even close to the condition stated it's a steal. I'm thinking the pre-approved thing is the scam. I've e-mailed the seller.
Its not scam. I just contacted the buyer and bought the car. I have seen it already. Got a sweet car for $8500!!!! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Just kiddin...its probably a scam!

Its open to approved bidders only so that the last "0" can be removed from the actual price. For example......a car selling for $80,000 shows as $8,000 on ebay. They are scamming ebay out of money. Preapproved means that YOU understand that you are actually bidding more than what is shown.

Preapproved means that YOU understand that you are actually bidding more than what is shown. But Furious Fiero claims he bought the car for the $8500 price. UPDATE: Damn Furious: You got me!!!
It has to be a scam....those exact pictures were used for that exact car for sale on e-bay from the actual owner about a month or so ago....nice car, not sure if it sold or not...of course, now that I read my post, I guess those pictures couldn't be used to sell "another" car....oh well
I've sent two emails now with no reply. If he wants to scam me he's doing a poor job - the second one I told him I would buy it if he contacted me. Really you don't put the extra zero to scam E-bay? You don't think they would catch on to that? And anyway who would pay 80K for a 308? I'm fully expecting a variation of the Nigerian on this one. I'll keep you posted.
by pre-approval they mean you'll need to provide your private information to them, something like bank inofrmation so they can empty your account.
I hid my email address, I hope anyone who contacted them did the same. Dear (Me): Our records indicate that you recently sent an email to or received an email from runningman400 through the eBay email system (for example, you may have sent an email to this member through Ask Seller a Question or received an email from this member through Contact eBay Member). We wanted you to be aware of the potential fraud risk these solicitations pose and encourage you to be cautious about the email you received from this member. Please keep in mind, sales that take place outside of eBay are not eligible for any eBay or PayPal protective services and you run the risk of losing your money or your item if you complete these transactions. I E-mailed the "seller" via E-Bay, earlier, I received this reply at 10:10pm: Hello , First you have to know that my car 1984 308 GTSI Ferrari is 100% working and looking perfect, no flaws or dents, no scratches or any kind of damage, no flood or wrecked and it is an US clear title, no engine problems, the interior looks great. The auction has been ended early for a "buyer" and it looks like he failed for a Ioan, so in order to be the buyer of this great car you must have cash available in your bank *i will not wait for loan's*. The bottom price for this car is $8,500.00 with cost for delivery included. About the car location,is in Yukon(Canada) I will be able to ship the car any where. Shipping will be done by Autos Marlink Co. and the car will arrive in about 8-10 days to United States and 19-18 days to Europe. The car will be insured at the shipping company for the transport.I already have the car on shipping co. posession along with ALL doc ready to GO so will be no local pick up available. For our protection, payment will be made through eBay Motors. The most important thing in all my activities is that I am affiliated at eBay Motors vehicle purchase program and I have a Purchase Protection Account for $20,000.00 and I assume you know what this means. If you are realy interested and have the money available for this purchase reply me and I will send you more details regarding this program "eBay Motors" Sincerely. ~Dean London~ ps. Just got the same message. I told him Canada was great because I have a friend there who can pick up the car this weekend and I will pay cash. Also not to worry about the shipping I will pay that also. OK - so I'm really bored at work...
Exactly. Anyone who still thinks this guy is for real, please contact me. I have this really nice bridge in Brooklyn that I'll let go for a very reasonable price.
OK - I'm bored so I'm still playing the guy. He says everything is set up for delivery and just needs to know the shipping address. I told him again I have a friend in Canada that can just pick up the car and pay him the cash including the delivery charge he has told me he has paid- he has to like that right since he had a buyer back out on him? He says he wants to do it all through E-bay motors - anyone know why?
The information on his ebay account is probably fake. Stolen id? E-bay vehicle protection will go after him and his personal information if their is a claim. He obviously knows that they cannont go after him, since it really isnt him. I would ask him for his bank information so that you can "trasnfer" money to him. Then forward that information to ebay...then maybe ebay can find out who it really is that is pulling this scam.
