    Hi guys,

I'm doing some research on anti vibration mounts as used on mst of the 3 series, and on my Testaorossa radiator bottle mounts.

They are small rubber pads with 6mm threads but I've seen them in two styles. Full waisted like the attached image, which is Ferrari Pt No. 102947, but I've also seen the same size unit but with a medium waist, maybe four mm or so thinner through the centre to allow a little more flexibility and softness to the mount.

I think they may be 101495, but I'm not sure as that may be the larger one with the 8mm thread that's about 40mm across.

Can any of you 3 series fellows possibly help with the correct part number, and / or a picture of the medium waaisted unit, and where it is used on a 3 series car?

    Thanks in advance.

    Rob,
I can only speculate that Ferrari got different models from different vendors. My 308 uses the same part number but mine are all rubber with no metal caps. I got exact replacements at McMaster-Carr (http://www.mcmaster.com/#9225k65/=48ow11). But they offer them in various dimensions and in two different compounds, rubber or neoprene

If you need to see them on a 308 you can look at the fuel pump assembly, the oil cooler, the coolant tank or the Fuel injection distributor box on the injected models. See item 43 at http://www.ricambiamerica.com/parts_catalogs.php?V=diag&I=2268

A little more info has come to light, thanks to internet scrounging.

Seems that 102947 is a full waisted version with 6mm thread as per my picture.

113021 'may' be a slim waisted version with 6mm thread that is used on 308 series where more flexibilty is required. Fuel pump mounts, fan shrouds, that type of thing. This is the one that you may be able to verify for me.

109453 seems to be a bigger unit with 8mm studs and mounts the exhaust system on a 308 and a Testarossa. I'd like to know if this is full waisted, medium waisted, or slim waisted?

Mine on the Testa are slim waisted and always break but I'm not sure what is original? Are the 308 ones the same?

And the most expensive one appears to be 101495 which appears to be an 8mm stud unit that is full waisted, so looks like a big version of 102947, and is used to mount the oil tank on a 308 or 512 and the radiator on a 512BBi and 400i.

    Rob,
Yes, those dimensions are nominally correct. 26mm diameter and a 20mm stack height. Here is a pic of my tired factory unit on the left and a new one on the right from McMaster-Carr. But again, my factory units did not have the metal caps, just metal end plates. The new units have the metal buried in the neoprene.

These are also the same as some rubber mounts used by Mercedes in the 70's, 80's, 90's.
There are a couple of different sizes depending on the weigth they carry. A cooperative Mercedes repair shop will probably be able to help you.
