308 side window / louvres question

The GTS versions had louvres over the entire quarter windows. The GTB (hardtop) versions only have small triangular sections over the gas cap and on the passenger side. I believe this is true from '76 all the way through the last of the '89 cars.

It would take some bodywork to remove the GTS louvres, because there's a metal lock tab at the rear angle. But some people have cut some of the verticals from the louvre assembly to make it look more like a GTB. If you're going to do that, I'd get another set in case you want to put it back to original for show or resale.

I like them stock - consistent with the '80s look of the car and looks a tad more exotic with less glass showing.

But as long as it's reversible (i.e., keep the original louvres somewhere) I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Here's the before and after pic of my conversion. I still have the original louvers put away for the future. Any reputable body shop should be able to convert them for you. Good luck finding spares though, they're becoming scarce.
