Was that Michael Mann's backup in case he couldn't get a Daytona for Miami Vice?

Not all Ferrari's look the part as a convertible.

The 365 GTB/4 and 275 turned out great that way.

    The 308....not so much.

That car is just 5-6 miles from my house(now rental) there in Schweinfurt.

I think you all know Schweinfurt.

Beautiful middle-age city; destroyed then reconstructed again. Famous for a USAAF raid on a ball-bearing factory in the autumn of 1943?
Is that what you have in mind, Mark?

Not a good look so I guess that was why they went to the GTS body style.

I lived near a professional baseball player in the late '80's in Arlington Texas (Ruben Sierra). He had a convertible Testarossa. I hate to see these cars butchered. It happened to be white as well. If you Mod the engine, it can be restored if desired. If you cut the top off, its probably forever...

Looks like the early inspiration for the Fiero. What goes around comes around.

Guys...we have been talkin' about these cars dozen of times; most, but not all, conversions were done by Lorenz and Rankl in Germany. Nothing extraordinary here. The ONLY good one is the FACTORY done 328 cabriolet, chassis #49543, still alive and well in Italy.

The 308's rear end, from the cabin backwards, is just too long for the spider design to work well, with the roof section removed, the design is just too unbalanced.

I was stationed there from 1989 to 2008. Very pretty in the summer, rather ugly IMO in the winter.

Yep. '12 O'Clock-High' w/Gregory Peck. Home to some of our beloved manufacturers for Ferrari: SKF most notably.

I had family and friends on both sides of those two bombing missions. One of my best drinking buddies was a Luftwaffe pilot swapping lead w/ those B17s 'over' Schweinfurt. Interesting stories.

If you or anyone else is headed there, let me know.

Sierra had a Corvette C4 convertible with a poorly mounted Testarossa bodykit. I think it was called a Vettarossa, advertised in the back of AutoWeek magazine, built in north Texas but later sued by Ferrari & put out of business. I lived at the Waterford Apts across from the old stadium & Ruben could be seen often driving like a complete jackass. (Running lights, speeding,etc..) Nice guy though, when I met him he didn't speak a word of english. Circa 1991.
