I believe there is a thread on this, but curious if replacing the starter in a 308 is a “DIY” job or more advanced and not recommended. Sounds like mine is going, want to stay ahead of it...
Yea I definitely don’t have a lift. I thought I read that you need to remove one of the motor mounts to get to it?
You don't, but loosening a motor mount and jacking the engine an inch or so can help. It's tough to get out, but you can replace with a hi torque which is smaller.
Forever ago I did a starter swap on the side of the highway.... It's doable but can be a real pita if the exhaust Shields are on also.
Yea they are on. I have so little free time now that I doubt I’ll be able to do it. Sounds more of a chore than I can take on at the moment...
