    I believe there is a thread on this, but curious if replacing the starter in a 308 is a “DIY” job or more advanced and not recommended.

    Sounds like mine is going, want to stay ahead of it...

    Yea I definitely don’t have a lift. I thought I read that you need to remove one of the motor mounts to get to it?

    You don't, but loosening a motor mount and jacking the engine an inch or so can help. It's tough to get out, but you can replace with a hi torque which is smaller.

    Forever ago I did a starter swap on the side of the highway....
    It's doable but can be a real pita if the exhaust Shields are on also.

    Yea they are on. I have so little free time now that I doubt I’ll be able to do it.

    Sounds more of a chore than I can take on at the moment...
