I am going to start the clutch R/R. In reading art. It appears a special socket is necessary for the lock nut removal. I am having trouble locating one does anyone have a recommendation and are there any other specility tools I should be looking for I am also preforming a 30K service.

There's also been some discussion of making one of these; I think some website mentioned what size socket to use. Basically, wht you do is get a socket of X size, then use a Dremel or similar tool to remove material to give you the 4 drive pins of the special socket. It might take a few shots, but eventually a search should produce something.

The tool seems to appear on Ebay fairly regularly.

Use an impact socket, they're much stronger/tougher than a regular socket of the same size.

If you want to make one, start with a bench grinder, and finish off with a dremmel tool. Or it will take forever.
