I have a 78 GTB, and I am trying to remove the clutch housing etc. etc.
Got the cover off the intermediate gears, but the nut on the end of the Transmission input shaft does not come off.
Before I go for the more persuasive methods, I thought I'd ask you all if this is a reverse threaded nut ?

    Thanks much,
    Hammerson

This nut is a right hand thread.

I am assuming that you have the correct socket for this nut. It may help to make sure you tap back the staked areas of the nut before trying to get it off.

I use an impact gun to get the nut off when I service this area of the car. blip the gun as you remove it and let the gun work it loose. Make sure the socket is completely ingaged with the nut when trying to remove it.

    Dan.

    Thanks Dan.
I do have the right tool, and the staked areas are tapped back.
    I will try again.
(If not, I may actually cut it too.)
