Mr. Fchat, how about you FINALLY make a separate section for Racing (F1, etc) and Track (those of us who track our cars). Thank you kind sir who also tracks his car and i am sure understands :)

Wow, what a day! 7 hours of completely open track time for only $150. This was much needed as have been developing the car quite a bit in the past month and the usual Club track days means 20-30 minute sessions, you wait an hour, then another 20-30 minute session. Lucky if you get 90 minutes in a day on the track. So with 7 hours at hand...

New mods to the car include:
    Nick Forza lightweight flywheel/clutch
Newly refurbed Bosch K-Jet fuel distributor (dyno tuned after install)
    Dual element adjustable wing
Lowered rear of car to move more weight forward
    New Nick Forza oil baffle

Anywho, the results speak for themselves. My best laps were 1:30 at NHIS pre mods and now are down to 1:26.5 to 1:27 comfortably. Data shows that the car accelerates much better and am able to achieve 5 to 10 mph more speed before the braking zones on this very tight track. At Watkins Glen i would guess 15 to 20 mph more top speed than previous runs would be achieved.

Data is via Traqmate system. The BLUE color is a July event (before mods) and BLACK is recent day (with mods). Still have some work to do for sure on my technique. This track is very tricky and fast. Not fast in top speed, but things happen at a fast pace and you have little room for error. See the video's traction circle to get an idea of the G's involved. The good news is that i can see my errors and my friends here online have been very helpful. Many thanks to everyone as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated.

This was such an experience! I felt like I was driving. Thanks!

Where did the software and display come from?

The data is logged using Traqmate. Then i can data export to use TrackVision software and overly the display. The special red version with Ferrari logo is a 'hacked' version i made :)

    Hear, Hear!

    I agree wholeheartedly.

Depending on regional forums is a major PITA. And doesn't necessarily work.

Case in point: Grand Prix Imports held a "Track Day" on Tuesday. I would not have known about it if I hadn't been on the way to a Lotus/Motocorsa event.

Well, I ended up participating w/o ANY sleep at all (looong drive, looong story). If the event had been announced in a "Track Day" forum I am sure I wouldn't have missed it and I would have left a day earlier. Been well rested and had a much better time at the event.

Some of us are willing to travel for Track Days. But checking the regional forums would require us to check several different forums regularly .... JIC.

As we all know the (misnamed?) Racing/Tracking forum is all about racing. Tracking posts are seldom seen and lost in the mix. One has to check regional forums, etc.

I wonder how many folks don't bother posting at all thinking their posts will be lost in the R/T forum?

To Rob: Please give us HPDE junkies our own forum.

To the membership: Should we start a new thread (or poll?) on this matter? Or has the issue already been covered?

    Regards,

    Richard.
