That's funny: you look all over the world and aside you there is what you need at the lowest price. Semislick tires are a disaster on the wet. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 has an E grade on the wet (= very dangerous) even if it's a champion on a dry Handling track. I think this is the OEM equipment for Ferrari 488 Pista or some GT2/GT2-3RS Porsche

    B grade is ok.

I hope the owners are aware, what they have on their cars. Otherwise.... recent rain consequences on the Autobahn in 'front of my housedoor'. There was far and wide no other car around deep in the night.

I have just ordered the Michelin Exalto 2.

    OMG, what a shame:(
I remember driving on the Autobahn in a VW golf 1.6, that is scary!!! At 170Km/h I must have been the slowest car on the road.
Good thing that in Spain speed limit is 120 Km/h, Don't have the driving skills of Fernando Alonso...not even close:(

O.k., since I have decided, which tyres to buy, I allow myself to derail my thread a bit to 'speed limit'.
I see no sense, creeping around with 120km/h on a dry Autobahn with low to no traffic at daylight. We have intelligent systems nowadays, which are able to set individual speed limits, depending on weather, traffic, etc.
I vote for such systems, say flexible speed limits, for such dumbasses, who don't know, that they must lift the gas pedal when it's raining.
BTW. The Ferrari driver above was such a dumbass in his early twenties.

And living near two borders of countries with stringent speed limits I can state, that not the skilled german Autobahn drivers are the most dangerous, but the unpracticed French and Swiss, who think, they can whoop it up every few weeks or months. The yellow 488 above was swiss registered.

Absolutely, Martin. Having my cars on the opposite side where yours is situated, the key is being aware of the weather demands and risks Our regions might not be the most demanding in the world regarding rain or snow, but from time to time weather still has some tricks and surprises up in its sleeve, and there is no gain in playing russian roulette: respect the weather...
    Drive safe...

Glad to find this current thread. Along with all the mechanical sorting my new-to-me 308 needs a replacement of my 2002 tires.

In addition to those mentioned here, I found on Tire Rack fitting 205-55-16 fronts and 225-50-16 rears:

    Dunlop Direzza
DZ102 Ultra HP Summer, V rated

    And Bridgestone Potenza

While looking for V or Z rated tires. I’m looking for nice weather only driving, unlike the OP, though.

Pirelli P Zero Rosso were max performance summer tires, Y rated.

    Still shoppin’.

Continental ExtremeContact Sport, just put them on my Boxer and they are great "17. They are available in 205/55/16 & 225/50/16. However summer only tires.

I have Bridgestone RE 11As on my 308QV, but they no longer available and are excellent.

Got my set of Michelin Pilot Exalto today. Driven 50mls. and happy so far. Though it's sunny and dry.
Thanks once more Bruno (nerofer) for the recommendation.
On the last kms on my way back home my driver side window died. But this is a different topic.

I would steer you towards a the new P7. Iit is the only truly low profile road tyre that is developed with earlier chassis in mind. they are offered on this page https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classic-car-tyres/ferrari/308.html

If you want some kind of back up, that is not from a tyre dealer check out this thread. https://www.lamborghinichat.com/forum/threads/countach-tires-does-anyone-care.508651/page-16 it is quite long. it is the later bit where people are talking about how much they like driving on them.

In Germany they are available through Munchner Oldtimer Reifen http://www.oldtimerreifen24.de/

    Thanks,
but like you see in my previous post I have bought a set of Michelin Exaltos two weeks ago and I'm happy with them so far.
Honestly said, the admittedly nice tread pattern of the new P7s is not worth the significant additional charge for me. But this is just my personal opinion.

    Tread wear index.

I had a discussion many years ago with friends about the Threadwear index, and someone stated (don't know if this is true or not) that it should be viewed with some caution, as - if my understanding was correct ??- the index itself is not strictly defined, each brand has its own criteria, meaning that the durability graded "240" for Michelin might not be the same durability as the "240" for Goodyear (for instance).
So the basic "100" of one brand - which is the standard norm - would be more durable than the "240" of the same brand, but that "100" might not be as durable as the "100" of another brand...
    Ah well...

Martin, sorry for the late, late answer... Yes Michelin Exalto is what I use on my 328. Has a good grip and lasts a long time, at least in very hot weather.
I think you made a good choice:)

Thanks Martin. That's not going to be very grippy. It's about the same as the Bridgestone I have on my car now. I might go back to 14s as the XWX is 100 TWI and has amazing grip.
