2 expressions come to mind. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and “I can’t tell you what your opinion is” ;)

I’ve seen scoops and they look very race car like, that is just not the look I’m after on my car.

The custom ECU project came roaring back to life so I've been a bit busy with that but I am making progress on the intakes. I got the TBs all disassembled and popped of the TPSs.....they press on so I broke out to keep the TB housings intact but I saved the other 4 by grinding away the house since I'm going to need to machine the TSP mount of of at least 4 of them anyway. Then set the TBs on for a quick look.

?next up is machine the bottm nose odwn to .125" (3mm for the rest of the world) like I did on the first 2 then I'll either do the linkage (boring slow stuff) or the air box.....which means the air box is up next :)

OK, TBs all cut and sitting on the intake properly. Notice there is little to less than less space between them....that will need to be addressed.

With the engine in there is 3+ inches to the deck lid....maybe 3.5-4.0 could be had with a little work on the screen and it's mounts. I think that deck lid gets heavier everytime I lift it.....at least little one was there to "help papa". I had him "running" the lathe today too ;)

    Air box time.

Shelby became a legend for stuffing a Ford 289 into an English car. Mark, your basically creating an entirely new engine. The original machinery has only been used to set the direction and provide raw material. I had my doubts this would all come together, especially when you started cutting up the gearbox, but seeing that beast parked where it belongs removes any ligering doubt.

Too bad you couldnt have grafted a section of another 400 block in the middle and built a V-16. By the looks of things you could have done it, but it would never fit.

yeah but I was reminded me of how much is left to do when little one ask "works nows? Papa's car works now?"........answer "no it doesn't work"........

The TBs will keep individual shafts connected like/similar to the motorcycle setups....a project for another day.

I know that feeling of looking at a partially finished project and realizing how much work still has to be done. Definetly a buzzkill.

    Great work tho....

buzzkill would be thinking about the exhaust system..(sorry)
