Anyone ever had a coolant temp guage give a false high reading. Mine seems to read way high. Already changed the sender. Seems to go up as the temp increases just goes to high.

yep, mine too did that,it was the gauge that was bad,$40 for a used one and no problems, now if you're not sure what to believe. Go get a thermo gun from radio shack or someone, and use it on the expansion tank and the radiator just all over the engine and see what kind of reading you're getting that'll help you to know what to belive in,I carry one in the car at all times just to know if the temp on the car is reading right. Last thing you want is that engine running hot

Clean the connections on the back of the gauge first. It is free and solved my problem which was similar to yours.

I cleaned the connections and it didn't help so I replaced it. what I did to see if it was bad was face down and then flip it up to look at it and watch the needle move back to zero.if it moves slow its good fast is bad that means theres a spring that broke or worn out.I you want a used gauge ferrparts has one, theres been a thread on how to check your gauge by using water temp and crossing wires or something.good luck

I've seen that as well. You're lucky to discover this in this forum. I know of folks who've spent alot of effort looking for the overheating problem.
