I have some questions... On the 308, when one presses the throttle do all carbs open at the same time and same amount? Or do you really need to punch it for all to open? Do all carbs supply all 8 cyl's at the same time during normal ops? I understand they need to be sync for setup/tune. Thanks
the purpose of synching the carbs is that when you press on the one pedal with your one right foot, you want all 4 carbs with 8 throats to have the same amount of throttle plate movements and thereby providing all the same air-flow into each of the 8 cylinders such that all cylinders provide the same combustion and power to drive the cars. There will be minor variations from one carb throat to the next and that is why you tweak the air balance screws, even idle screws, and then adjust all the linkages such that all carbs have the same airflow and movements.
