I've just finished replacing all 4 wheel covers, and I took some notes on the markings inside each wheel, including the spare, on my 81 308 GTSi (33603).

3 wheels are clearly Campagnolo with the following markings: 28B, TBE, 40899 and a circled 80.
The other 2 have no manufactuer name with the following markings: 28B, TB3T4, 40899 and a circled 77, although the spare still has the Campagnolo, Ferrari and 14x7 1/2 decal on the outside rim

4 wheels are shod with 225/60 HR14 Sumitomo HTR4 tires.
the spare is shod with (the original?) 205/70 VR14 XWX tires.

Are the wheels all the same to receive what I think is the original? 70 size tire? Can I consider them to non-metric ?

    Thanks
    Marc-André

I think you have 3 original rims (circled 80 is probably build date) and 2 non original rims (circled 77 is probably 1977 which would not be on an '81 car).

The 2 without markings I think are manufactured by speedline. I think there were 2 or 3 manufactures for 308 wheels. In any case all 5 wheels should be the same.

You said 14 in. tires so they are not metric. I think '82 or '83 Ferrari used 390mm. rims (15.5 in.) .

I think Campagnolo, Chromodora, & Speedline all made 308 wheels at one time or another.

I don't know about the markings, but doesn't sound like you have any metric rims.
