Can you please stop this BS you are creating on the Internet , the oem boxes are not $700, this scare tactic on OEM replacement parts is getting OLD.

    Ferrari 308 Fuse BOX Black 40197006 A | eBay

Every business will always have a few unsatisfied customers .... This is the key word ..... "Unsatisfied customer"

As for Fave, he has bought this birdman product, and has every right as a "buyer" to review his purchase, which is more than I can say for the rest of the people who haven't spent one penny on the factory oem replacement box, and knocking it.

Umm. If you read what I posted, I referred to the OEM blocks as "pair" (meaning a quantity of 2) as in, most people would change them out in pairs just like everything else we do on our cars. Example both left and right driveline CV joints etc. You have posted a link that basically says a pair of fuse blocks will cost roughly $600 US.LOL! Whatever guys! If I thought the OEM product was superior I would've put the money down immediately, it's not as if it's going to break the bank.

I agree with keeping my car as original as possible. However, when it comes to life, limb or property I am willing to bend little. OEM fuse boxes are old technology that can often contribute to problems. I have Birdmans. OEM tensioner bearings are often the cause of belt failures. I have Hill Engineering......OEM fuel hoses do not handle ethanol based fuel well......would you argue that SRI or Aeroquip hoses don't belong on the car because they are not original? Not me.

No offense but my calculator states $520 not $700 and not roughly $700 .I'm sure if you called them, you could get them for $500.
The difference from 500-700 represents a 40% price difference from what you are quoting, again mis information from people like you posting.
Just trying to stick with some facts, not voodoo concepts :p

I can't help stirring the pot... You are both assuming the left and right halves are the same price...

    Good day Fave,

Can you tell me what "modern" boxes you are referring to or perhaps are you referring to another Sam? I ask, as the blocks I made were for the Boxer family (late 365's, BB's, and BBi's) and 308's (GT4, GTB/S, GTB/S's, and QV's)... and the little 2-fuse Fuel block for the BBi's. Interestingly, the "Black" colored Blocks are the (same except for fusing), with the "White" colored blocks being slightly different on the injected models (except for fusing and source voltage bussing).

    As for your comment:

    Yup... completely different design.

    Cheers,

    Sam

It's not your fuse box but a blown relay. If I remember correctly, from what my Ferrari Mechanic told me. That is why neither window is going up or down for you.

so.. since i started this thread i thought i would come back and let y'all know what happened with my windows (and get this thread back on track):

turns out it was just a power issue. the car was running @ the time but the windows didn't seem to work but i went back to the car a few days later, started it up, took it for a drive and the windows worked fine. i will just chalk this up to a minor electrical gremlin.

now to take the thread back off the rails.... I don't have Birdman's fuse box but as a lurker (mainly) on fchat I appreciate his passion and his ability to roll up his sleeves, not only for himself but for the betterment of this community. People like him (and so many others) that not only DIY but take the time to communicate what they do (and more important, how they do it) to the rest of us less skilled (means me) is why i subscribe and spend time here.

    thanks all.

Have had the same issue with my 308QV windows slow and stopped Also car overheating. Found the fuse box had melted like everyone else's due to the old fuse style not making contact properly and one fan not actually getting any power. Terrible OEM fuse block design.

Found a replacement box on EBay to install blade fuses and with some minor soldering skills which as a Engineer have a bit of made to match original design plus one extra slot each which I use to run the relay mod for the electric window relays.

I personally don't like changing good designs but technology has moved ahead in 30+ years and OEM parts can be expensive and old technology. Eg using Holden commodore spark plug leads and 2 hours careful assembly will never have my leads failing again also impossible to distinguish from original.

That is what I was thinking.

My old OEM boxes were scorched in several places.

Absolutely not worth replacing with the same ole ........

Exactly the same fix I applied - mounted them on an intermediate bracket to line up on the existing screw holes. Overall a pretty neat fit, but I'm still waiting for Sam to do another run!
