HELP! I have a 1983 - 308 and the drivers side windshield wiper does not move when I turn wipers on. Passenger side works fine, the post on the drivers side is moving, but the wiper is not. Any idea how to tighten this down or repair?? THANKS!!!

So do we assume that you removed the wiper arm on the PS in order to see if the post was moving? If so did you grab ahold of the post as it was moving and try to hold it? This will tell you if the gearbox is slipping. If it is the post will move but under load of the wiper arm/blade asm it will slip. This would be a bad gear or the linkage is slipping. If you cannot stop the post then the problem may be in the serated (sp?) part of the wiper arm that is screwed (nutted) down to the post. If you cannot tighten the nut far enough or if the serations are shot the blade will not turn. Thats my 2C. Please let us know what you find out.
