It appears to be in very, very good condition. I won't nitpick what's original and what's not, as it does have the Concours trophy (bowl?) that I certainly don't have, but originality has never been my thing - at least not on my GT4 - I couldn't care less, honestly, as long is it runs well.

In terms of what it's "worth", that's a tough one. Obviously, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay, but that may not be in line with what the seller thinks it's worth. There are a number of FChatters from the Central Coast, so perhaps someone can go take a look at the car in person, talk to the seller, etc. I will say, though, that I was less-than-impressed with the quality of writing in the description:

...but whatever - you don't have to be an English major to sell a Ferrari. I personally think that it reflects negatively on the seller, though, and would give me second thoughts about getting any (decent) straight answers out of him/her that I had about the car above and beyond the eBay discription.

I will just say that the car appears to be a 9/10 cosmetically, and perhaps higher depending on how it shows in person. The key to any Ferrari purchase, especially for a 27 year old car (I say 27 vs. 26 b/c my GT4 was built in March of '79), is "caveat emptor" and get a PPI.

    Best of luck!

Beautiful GT4, but I don't think even the finest one in the world would bring over 30K US, would it?

Sure... I do believe GT4s have seen a "real" price jump in the past year, but even if they hadn't, you can never rule out the possibility of that one potential buyer with more money than brains.

The Barrett-Jackson car auction is very successful, in part, because of buyers just like that.

If kids are willing to pay up to 10x the MSRP of an XBOX 360 (back around Christmas time) "just to be the first to have one", you can bet an adult will pay top dollar for a car if he/she thinks it's "the best." High retail on GT4s is in the upper-20's, anyway, so a few thousand more isn't a stretch.

I'm thinking this is a car that used to belong to a guy named Malcolm, and it's been to CC a few times. If so, I think it is fitted with 16" 308 QV wheels. It was always in nice condition when I've seen it (assuming it is the same car).

Not much else that I can say. If it does/did belong to this guy Malcolm, I know that he takes great care of his cars (also has a burgundy daytona and a 512 BBi, IIRC).

How much is it worth? Couple million, I figure, but I'm a bit biased...

Maybe nit picking, but I don't think they had shields or two black mirrors. I think it should have only 1 chrome mirror, I am not sure if it should be square or round though.

But I like others, do not care so much for originality, mine has aftermarket exhaust and MSD boxes, I hate points. Just drive it.

Finally it appears to be gorgeous. Good luck.

Just checked the price online. They're asking $49,900.00 U.S.

What the Frick? Am I crazy or is that waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay high?

Only the early Dino badged GT4s had the single chrome mirror. The later cars, (at least the 78 and 79) had 'normal' Vitaloni black mirrors.

How can any F missing most of its emission equipment be described as "no excuses mint condition"?

(and being a '73, those bits are even harder to find or 2X the difficulty to reproduce)

    It's a 79, not a 73.

I guess if it really is concours then its probably worth 40k to the right buyer who really wants one.
You could spend 25k on an average one and still not bring it up to concours.
I also think prices of GT4 have gone up lately so it will be interesting to see what this brings.
