Paul & Tim, I am assuming neither one of you have attended the Concorso Italiano events the last few years, My Black 308 has been there the last 2 years running, (3 years ago, not running as we did not have time to get it running before the show) with the 3.5 liter engine. The 4 LITER 308 engine is exactly the same as the 3.5-liter with the exception of a custom crank that costs in the excess of $4,000.00. The rod length is the only other difference between the two engines. I am sure when Mark Lewis decides to finish his 4 liter project, it will also be a success.

With respect to your thoughts on the engine. The engine has been dynoed on 2 separate sessions & taken apart after the first session break in, perfect internally after the first session, we treached 340 HP & 269 torque at 5800 RPM very quickly.

Paul, pick up October’s issue of D Sport & there is an article on Steve’s machine work that features the Modular Integrated Deck set up of the Ductile iron liners, the same as used in the 3.5 & 4 liter engines, maybe you will see that the MID cylinder liners make for a much stronger block than a original 308 block, sorry to hijack the thread, I just wanted Paul & Tim to be aware of the 3.5 & 4 liter.

It’s probably time for me to start a new thread on the big bore 308 engines now.
