Hello all, I have a 1975 308GT4 with a busted rear window. I have an auto glass shop near me who can cut out a new one no problem, but I am curious if there is an electronic template in existence that would save taking the car to the shop to create a template from scratch. Car is currently not running and on a hoist. Thought I would ask, as I have been surprised many times as to the different resources some of you have posted up. Stew.
Make your own template with a piece of cardboard. Just cut it to a bit oversize and mark the glass opening with a pencil. Bring your gasket to the glass shop and they will know how much to deduct from the tight opening.
Didn't the original have wiring for defrost? I am guessing a thin resistive film since I don't see any wires in the window.
My GT4 has a plain glass replacement rear window, switch and wiring to the window is in place so I believe the car had a defrost window originally. Lots of rear windows get damaged in the engine removal process and I am guessing that original defrosted replacement windows have been NLA for a long time.
