I think all Ferraris aspire to greatness in many different ways...but certainly, the GT4 ended up being highly underrated (or maybe even ignored) in many ways, including as being an excellent driver's car...mine took me on several trips most of the way across the USA...including through the thunder storms in the Prairie lands in the summer and the icy snow covered roads in the mountains of the West in the winter...and of course, cruising the Superslabs at high speed too...:D....

Someone once commented in an article I read (a long time ago) that it seemed like the GT4 could have been designed just for the purpose of taking someone and their friend over the Alps on their vacation along with all their luggage etc...(heck I guess even a child seat of some type might fit somehow there in the back too)...;)....

Edit: Did you know...It's possible to average about 20mpg at 100mph average cruising speed in a GT4...(as I remember, I actually did that between gas stops on one of my trips)....

Don't try this in Canada. I feel sorry for my Canadian friends. Getting arrested for speeding is EZ. I managed to rattle an officer ~20 years ago on this road which looked like the Autobahn. It must have had 50 mile+ smooth sections which were dead straight, smooth and flat! No one on the road except me and -------.

Also, I heard there's some law where they take your car!?!? You can go test drive some fast sports car - play with it a little, and get into serious trouble.

    Hello Grahame,
Can you check the pitch of your car and let us known ? Is front lower to the ground than the rear ? or how many cm/inch difference between front and rear ?

The gt4 has a concealed downforce spoiler - it's the panel in front of the spare wheel compartment which is angled to pass the cooling air up and out while at the same time pressing the front end down. the 308 GTs don't have that. Bravo e Complimenti Marcello Gandini R.I.P.

I can get mine faster than 85 mph. If you're obsessed with speed get a different car.

FWIW, I lived in Germany for 4 years when I was much, MUCH younger and it was easy to maintain 130-140 MPH for lengthy periods on the autobahn. I was there a couple of years ago and it was very different. Due to traffic/construction I couldn't go any faster than typical US interstate speeds. TBF, I didn't go out at 2AM which seems to be when most of the "Here's how fast I went on the Autobahn" runs seem to be made.
