Interesting looking at what I planned and what's actually happening a few years down the track. No quick rack Horse and as mentioned in other areas I'm putting the original 14" wheels on with the XWX's (The first owner opttioned the 7 1/2" wheels). I do have a set of 16" Superformance wheels that I will use for the track. (and yes I will follow up the belt protectors before going on the track. )
Actually I just read that you're hoping to make the carby drive in October so I'll hopefully catch you then.
OK, about time for a bit of an update. I'll just post a heap of pics. Carpets in, glass in seats in all coming together. Car should be finished in another 2-3 weeks. The wheels in this shot are the metrics just for moving it around. I have of course restored the 14" wheels that it came out with. Sorry for the repost, but I'm sure most haven't seen the pics in the Oz section. Looking great Brett, can't wait to see it for real. Hey one thing you might want to consider if you have not already (and it's not too late) is adding some extra sound proofing to the firewall behind the seat, especially the small section under the rear window, and the shelf below it where the seat belt anchors fasten. Maybe your car already has the aluminium panel inside the engine bay between the engine and firewall, but my early UK glass car doesn't and it was annoyingly loud on long trips. Some time back I removed the shelf, carpet and underlay on the firewall and added a single layer of Dynamat to all panels on the inside which helped quite a bit. It can't be seen and if I want the noise back I just crack open the drivers window and enjoy the induction through the right side air intake Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well spotted Al. Yes, that is actually original carpet. Don't ask me how he got it, but my mechanic had a contact. The carpets in the cabin are as close as possible to original and to quote the supplier only the guys with white gloves will pic the difference.
You are right the interior early carpet is also impossible to find... I had a stash here in Houston and they CLOSED without telling me, all inventory sold off......went back decades.....
Guys, its getting bloody close now. A couple of days to go. A couple of quick pics from Saturday. After 3 1/2 years I got to take it for a run around the block. We have the Natioanl Ferrari Club rally starting at the end of this week and I'm going to that. Will post more pics next week sometime. We have a very good photographer here on F-Chat who lives around the corner from me. We'll go out one weekend and take some really good shots. Thought you might like these photos guys. Car went well. Very happy. The flames were popular. Just got back from a 1230 mile round trip for the Ferrari National Rally in Oz. These pics from the track day. Last 3 pics are photos of photos so poor quality.
