Will 1983 Mondial wheels fit my 1979 308GTS?

Offset is different between the Mondials and the 308 pre-ABS models. Besides, why would you want to use TRX tires and wheels? FWIW, the Mondial's TRX tires are wider than the ones used on the 308 - 240mm width versus 220. If you're trying to find wheels for your '79 308 (instead of using your 14" wheels), try TRutlands and their replica 16" wheel.

Are you familiar with the TRutland replica wheel? The image on the website looks like they are unfinished. Do they need to be painted?

I don't have direct experience with them, so any feedback I'd provide would be pure speculation. Best bet would be to contact TRutlands directly. BTW, check on eBay as TRutllands sells sets on that website.

Response from Lee at T Rutlands:

"I believe these are powder coated. They are very close to the original silver in color. You do not need to paint these. They are ready to use. "

    My 85 308 came with 4 like wheels, I need to trade two of my 16 X 7's for two 16 X 8.

I understand the 7's are more scarce, if thats true, for a change I am the lucky one

Does anyone on the forum have experience with the 16" reproduction wheels from T. Rutland? They do not offer any warranty but say that they have sold 20+ sets in the last couple of years with no complaints. They said I should call about their return policy, but I haven't yet.

Also, is there any market for a used set of TRX wheels?

    Thanks

Go with 1" spacer/adapters (5.25-5.450) on the front...& 1.5" spacer/adapters (5.25-5.450) on the rear and you can choose from basically any wheel in any mag or catalog on the planet.

I found my spacer/adapters on ebay, punch in 4.25" spacer and go from there.

I can't seem to find the company or site of the actual spacers I bought, but I started on ebay.

    Good luck
