Could someone tell me the value on a 81 308GTSi red / black 50k miles major done in 2003? From what I have seen I was thinking around 27k to 31k. ??????????? thanks
How many miles? What shape is interior/exterior? Does it have the TRX (390mm) wheels? If the answer is yes and you are going to use it as a DRIVER you should plan on $3000 on wheels and tires. If the answere is no your in luck unless it is for show(however your still in luck as TRX wheels are inexpensive while the tires are not. I have a black 81 with red interior and love it. Check behind the rear lic plate to see if it burns oil. To some the 1st injected cars are not as desirable as the carb or the 4 valve. They have a point as we are down on hp. Be we have electronic ignition and no carbs to keep in sync compared to earlier 308's 4valve have most of the power back but there is a preimum price that can partly offset by not having to replace TRX (390mm) wheels. Depending on the answers to the first couple of questions you are in the ballpark. Concerning the major was it done by amechanic you know and trust. My 308 30k was done in 89 and the car had 39950 in 2005. I insisted on a belt and roller sevice and it turned out the front bank behind the A.C. had NEVER been DONE. Oh and does it still have the 85MPH speedometer? Personal taste. stephen
If paint/interior/etc is good & car is in overall clean condition with reputable service your in the ballpark. According to the so-called "new" service interval (3 years), you are comming up on another belt change. If you are the seller, that's a good place to start. If you are a buyer, look for a car that you know needs things and get it done correctly under your ownership/supervision. Lots of stories about "serviced" cars and paying the extra $ only to spend it all over again doing it right. Just a thought....
I've seen sales in the low 20's for rough cars in the past couple years. Really nice ones fetch over $30k these days. Most seem to find homes in the high 20's if in "average" good condition. ken
My 85 QV sold with 87000 miles new engine at 60K new head rear head at 86K miles for $29K.... not bad I thought... it needed some other work, but was none the less very hi mileage well used car, in Ok cosmetic condition... mechanical shape was good
i think that upper 20's sounds good. if there isn't anything majorly wrong with the car, i'd say only the mileage would keep the price down a little. in the 308 market, it seems like good cars are getting harder to find under 30K, so if this one is a quality example, and you like it, then the car is a good deal under 30. john
By the way Mark, are you buying or selling? Can you post some picture of the car just give us an idea what it looks like? Thanks Mike
I am looking to buy. (ferrari # 2 maybe) Ron Tonkin did the service in 03 small amount of rust on the bottom of door has been repainted interior good it is (for sure) a driver Normally I would not consider a car like this but the price made me look twice. thanks, Mark
