    Can anyone recommend a shop (and provide contact info, name, phone, etc.) that they had their alternator serviced by and would recommend the shop to others?

    I have the alt out while doing the major and want to have it cleaned and degreased, tested and possibly even re-cored to increase amp output.

    The guy nearest me works out of his living room, and after a visit I just didn't get the right "vibe" from him. Before I start calling around NJ/NYC/Brooklyn I wanted to ask for a recommendation. Then I though it doesn't have to be a local shop, I could ship the thing anywhere.

    I searched through a lot of threads, most state "...I dropped mine off this morning..." or "...the shop that did mine..." etc. but I couldn't find any with a specific recommendation and contact info.

    Appreciate any references.

    Phil, try posting in the NY Tristate section if not any competent auto electric shop should be able to do, I would request that they use genuine DELCO parts of US made parts and not cheap Chinese parts for the rebuild

    Hi Phil,

    I have a guy here that rebuids alt. for me, I do the cleaning and degreasing while he rebuids the cores. he does a very good job, and we have done 308, 328, 512, Daytona, 250GTE, etc. You are welcome to send it here.
