I have a 1985 308QV. After taking it out for a drive this weekend I parked it, disconnected the battery and was out in the garage for a bit. I noticed a humming or whirring noise about every minute or so from the engine bay. This went on for a about an hour. I poked my head in there and it seemed to be coming from under the airbox near or in the CIS fuel distributor. It wasn't the frequency valve.

Has anyone experienced this sound on their car before? What or how could something be making the noise with the battery disconnected? Thanks.

By the way, the car was hard to start after that, but eventually did running rough and then smoothing out to a nice idle.

Sounds like a fuel injector was leaking down. Probably wouldn't have happened more than once though.
