    Yesterday I discovered that the "cap" for the mixture screw on the fuel distributor is missing. My understanding is that this will cause a lean mixture condition and should be capped immediatly.

    This seems like a part that would be diffcult to get. Has anyone used a more commonly avalable solution to cap the mixture setting hole ?

    Most of the older (late 70's, 80's) VWs, BMWs, Mercedes used those. Some had the pressed-in metal cap, others had a rubber plug with a metal rod a couple of inches long out the top. Does yours have a threaded hole about 1/4" down? If so, you can get a short screw and put a small o-ring under the head to seal the hole.

    Thanks guys. I took a close look to see if there are threads in the bore, but it does not look like it. The 308QV exploded views on Ferrari Parts UK is not up yet so I cant do a parts lookup. Would any of you have a part number of rthe plug ?

    the part you need is #111182 @ a cost of $14.64,the one I got came white but it work,check the parts sheets on www.Ricambiamerica.com

    Leaving the plug off changes the mixture? I had not picked up on that in all my reading on the CIS.

    You guys are talking about two different plugs...

    Mike,
    The plug you refer to is actually a "limiter" which prevent the throttle plate base angle setting from being tampered with. Although not required, it's a great idea to preven those who don't know the difference between the idle air bleed and the pre-set, typically not ever tampered with, throttle plate angle.

    Aaron,
    The plug you're refering to prevent false air from getting into the FD/Intake housing and giving you inaccurate AFR readings after a mixture adjustment. This plug is required if you want accurate, repeatable AFR readings.

    David,I'm sorry I thought the plug they talking about is on the throttle body #20. thanks for clearing that up
