what is the best procedure to remove the rear header? Do i have to lift the engine a little?
On my 83, I was able to drop the rear manifold out the bottom without moving the engine. My manifolds do not have any heat shielding on them. On Steve's 78 car, the manifolds have the shielding on them and we had to unbolt the engine mounts from the chassis, unbolt the top mount and the shift linkage, then shifted the engine in order to drop the manifold. If you do that, be careful not to kink the clutch and thottle cables (actually, you may want to disconnect them a well).
