When you replace shocks, is there a torque requirement for the top and bottom bolts where you attach it to the car?

Is the process or removing and re-installing shocks straighforward? Does anyone have any advice to share? I got some Wilbers and wondering if should attempt to replace them myself?

The shocks should drop the car 20 mm (about 3/4").

    Thanks.

Nice Coil over, is that made to fit the 308?

Yes. They make it based on the VIN.

I attempted it today -- glad my neighbor stopped by -- need two people for some of it.

    1. Need to move the coolant resovoir and remove the air filter box.

    2. Need to have 2 - 19mm sockets and one 19mm wrench

    3. On the rear shocks, the hardest part was getting it out after the bolts were un-done. With some wiggling it came out from the top.

    4. In order to remove the front shock, you really need to remove two bolts on the top (one holding the shock and one holding the front of the arm) and one on the bottom.

    5. On the front re-assembly, i found assembling the bottom first helped. Putting the top bolt on the shock required a mirror to ensure the holes were lined up. I installed the bolt holding the top of the shock 1st since i used to arm bolt to line up the holes on the nut side.

It was not an easy job but then again, i have never done this before. I would recommend any novice to have some help. (I could not have done it alone.)

So, is this shock a direct replacement for the stock Konis? No spacers needed on the shock eyes? I installed some Varishocks on my 308 several years ago and i had to use washers as spacers on the eyes. Your new shock appears to have a collar to provide a snug fit into the frame tabs. Can you confirm this? Also, can they make a shock for the 328? Should be identical, no?

A follow-up to my previous post: does the shock come with an adjustable coil perch, if one doesn't want to alter ride height? Also, are they adjustable for stiffness?

Yes, it is a direct replacement. I did not have to reuse anything from the old shock.

The collar is snug fit to the frame tabs.

The catalog they sent me with the order does show a similar one for the 328. They custom make this so when your order, you them them what you want and give them your VIN#. It took about 4 weeks to get it.

Yes, the perch is adjustable. Mine came preset to drop the car 20 mm but you can drop it down more. I think you can specify stock height but i did not ask. The shocks came with the spanner to change the height.

The only other thing you can adjust is the rebound damping.

Hotzos, what was your cost for all four corners?

Edit: Never mind I found it on their website.

Mark, nice work! I definitely want to check this out next time I see you at C&C. Did you get a chance to take a quick spin after the install?
