FYI, I bought 2 from Rutlands for the 328. A few days later another one burned through. It was a Friday so I tried a little quick fix. J-B Weld spread around the extender fixed it right up. I still haven't got around to replacing that extender, 2 years later. Two tubes of J-B sit in my tool roll now.

Which brings a good point...if you are going to replace a bad one or two...might as well replace them all; as the rest are probably not far behind. Man, is there anything J-B Weld cannot fix? ;)

Yep! I should have replaced them all at once, but I don't think I had the $100 at the time. The J-B was an attempt to drive it over the weekend. Who knew it would work so well. I hereby proclaim myself "KING OF PROCRASTINATORS"!!!!!!!!!! I still haven't replace them all! :D

Have a 89 328------should the extenders actually snap down onto the plug?? Pulled one off to look at tonight and there was green corrosion on both ends--pulled the other 7--yikes!!! Total 5 out of 8 were green at the ends. 3 looked like they were brand new. Of the 3 new looking ones -2 had a different clip design where they snap to the plug. The clip was much bigger looking. Those 2 snapped back on the plug no problem-nice, tight and secure feeling. The other newer looking one will not actually snap on the tip of the plug. Tryed different plugs and no go. Will this hurt performance?? Ordered 5 new ones from Ricabi, but they are the ones with the small looking clips. Can't imagine it will hurt too bad since actually unbeknowst to me 6 out of 8 were never snapped on.

There are two types of plug extenders - 100mm and 104mm. The two valve engines use a (generally, black) 100mm extender while the quatrovalvoles use a (generally, red) 104mm extender.

I have a 4v and I tried to buy the correct (104mm) extender from Daniel at Ricambi but, at the time, he only had the 100mm extenders. These 100mm extenders will fit a 4v, just not very well.

And, yes, best to replace all eight at one time. They will tend to burn through down low at the point of where the spark plug clip comes closest to the inside of the extender.
