For all you gurus out there. This may sound stupid, but I don't have the trans in front of me to check this. On the late model trans with the oil pump, what drives the pump shaft shown in the pic? Is it driven by some intermediate coupler? I don't see any extra trinkets on the parts drawing. So I'm assuming it driven off one of the main shafts.
