I've got a movie spoting nobody else will ever get, until now. In the "Princess Bride" Robert Blake is reading a story to his grandson, and in the kid's room on a shelf is a red 308 model shown in several scenes. Pretty goofy/funny movie too.
It's Peter Falk aka Columbo, not Robert Blake. Entertaining family movie, I have in on DVD and will look for the model.
I just watched this movie from NetFlix. I kind of felt like they made the Ferrari owner out to be an A.H. and of course an A.H. would drive a Ferrari. When his character changed for the better he sold it. However, I liked the answer to the question "why should you have this Ferrari" . . . "because I have wanted one since I was a kid, I'm flat broke, in debt up to my A. and my wife said she would divorce me if I bought one" dave
I have seen and own all 7 seasons of Tales From the Crypt and believe the only Ferrari I recall seeing was a 308 GT4 in the Episode, "My Brother's Keeper." Some reckless driving of it as well, not just a scene of it parked in the background.
And the car keeps changing position throughout the movie... (I questioned if they ran through the whole thing twice and kept the best segments as it is just two positions that keep alternating).
The continuity on that is terrible - the on-the-bonnet camera shots have the badge in place one second then off the next throughout... I remember this scene broke my little heart, aged 8.
Just checked out this movie again, forgot about this scene. Very cool. They drive that car like I WOULD NEVER drive mine! Thanks for posting this.
There's a georgeous GT4 in a Sidney Sheldon movie. I think it was called Bloodline. The car is being driven gently, and turns into the scene like a supermodel. It looks stunning. Also another vote for The Hidden. I noticed the nose badge gets shot off, then the camera angle switches, then switches back to the nose, and it's back on. Incredible scene. Also there's a sophomoric scene in The Hidden where A Ferrari dealer is pampering a customer with coke as he's completing the purchase of a Mondial.
At this point of my life I thought I had caught every movie, t.v. show with a 308 but last night during an episode of Cheers in which Woody was in his girlfriend Kelly's bedroom which was full of Barbie dolls I spotted a white 308 model on a shelf with the dolls must of been a Barbie Ferrari.
Also another one I saw on a home t.v. show was Barry Williams a.k.a. Greg Brady was looking for a house at the very beginning of the show they show him driving off in a 328.
We used those as centerpieces at my Magnum PI-theme birthday party in March; close enough. And speaking of "close enough," classic... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a dvd of a movie called "Redline." It's from Blast films. I'm surprised it's not been mentioned here yet. 308 plays a leading role. Its an obscure movie from 2003- not the "new" Redline re: street racing high end cars. This one's a little more "old school." Fun to check out for an evening. J.
Barbie has a fleet of vehicles. My daughter had a red Barbie Ferrari 355 Spyder, with remote control!
RE: Redline I can't find a listing for a 2003 movie, or a Blast films movie. Who stars in it (besides the 308)? Thanks!
I'm sorry Wise3- wikipedia says 1996, Amazon says 1995, the dvd said 2003- I found it in a Walgreens 5.99 rack I think. ha! Still a fun "car movie night" film. J. Red Line (1996 film) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Red Line is a 1996 American action film directed by John Sjogren and written by him, Rolfe Kanefsky, and Scott Ziehl. Watched Redline again tonight because while I was posting about it, a bag of popcorn came out of the microwave wave so I thought, "hell yeah Saturday night." haha. The Ferrari 308 is not a "leading role," but it is stolen and driven through a couple of scenes. Car chase red 308 gts vs porsche 911 from the same era. There are also a couple of mustang scenes vs a jag and seperately a 944. This movie is entertaining for various reasons and not for children. ha. J.
