I ran across a site this morning called the Internet Movie Car Database that lists all known instances of a car appearing in a movie. It list the following instances:
308 (1)
308 GTB (33)
308 GTB Replica (2)

I browsed through and couldn't find a single instance of the GT4!

IMCDB seems to be a pretty good site. I corrected them on my car and they properly attributed ownership to me which I thought was pretty cool.

They had mine listed as a 1977 GTS but is now properly a QV GTSi. Seems they defaulted a lot of them to 1977 models or something...

It was used in season 84-85 Magnum. Two cool chase scenes in the episode where the girl was in that wheelchair and Magnum was running after (and away) from that older Pontaic GTO. As far as anyone can tell that was the only time it was used on the show and we still can't figure out what was so special about that car that they used it for that one show only and, probably, not again.

An owner before Patrick had it painted black. He bought it from one of the set designers at the end of the season 6 (the next season) who got it from the studio.

So pop that episode in the dvd palyer and see Patrick's car!

 

That was a good chase scene the episode was called on face value. The GTO was a 1970.

 

I agree. I had it on tape back in the day and played it about 10,000 times.

 

Was that the same episode were the 308 had a chase scene with a 928?

 

No, that was a couple seasons before.

That was on the same VCR tape. Again, I watched it around 10,000 times as well.

I made a helluva Ferrari 308 "mix" VCR tape back in the 80's. I still have it too. It has everything.

 

I used to go on that site quite regularly and spent ages correcting a whole load of their Ferrari entries, especially in the 308/328 & 355 sections.

There were quite a few mix ups between GTB's and GTS', along with 328's noted as being 308's, and then there were cars that weren't really Ferrari's at all!

looks like it's not one car (possibly a fake in there as well) - I see late model flag mirrors in the beginning of the scene, then some other ones a few times, then no mirrors, then magically they reappear - and really, who crosses the road with a big pane of glass like that?!? also, at around 5:33 - when he's getting out, you can see a roll cage in there.

Watching BHCII right now, never noticed before that they start with a 308 then it's a 328.

 

I was watching an old episode of the Boyd Coddington show American Hot Rod and they were meeting with chassis builder Art Morrison and on the wall in his shop he has a big picture/poster of a euro 308 it was pretty cool to see it shows the front of the car.

 

I watched the last season of Magnum recently and after watching it again and after going to the estate in 2007 and seeing everything in person it made me wonder why they never did anything with the gate house it is really a relatively large building.

 

Another one popped up that I hadn't seen before, in the opening scene of The Rockford Files episode titled Lions, Tigers, Monkeys and Dogs there is a red 308gtsi being valet parked at a French restaurant that Rockford is going to. The episode was from 79 so one would assume it was a carb. car.

 

This silver/red GTS with Boxer trim was on a CHiPs episode. Funny enough he was pulling over as it was breaking down/running rough.

Lol I was just going to post that! Again just when I thought I had seen every t.v. show from the 70's and 80's with a 308 in it last night this one pops up on chips it was the Vagabonds episode with Ed Harris.

 

How about the beautiful 308 GT4 in the scene with Clay Regazzoni and Niki Lauda in the movie Rush that came out in 2013.

The pilot episode of Spenser For Hire, "Promised Land," has Hawk driving around in the snow and slush in a white 308 GTB. I had forgotten about this one until I got the dvd set....

 

Does anyone know if its possible to obtain a copy/download of the 'Ferraris in the movies' clip compilation, that was shown at the Museo Ferrari , a couple of Years ago? have checked on youtube, but no luck so far.....
