Never feels wobbly to me. I've had my 83QV for 21 years and had a Boxer for almost 9 years. 308 felt lighter than my Boxer, but felt absolutely stable at speeds somewhere in the 120- 130 range.

That does feel rich for a GTSi. They're seem to usually trade a good 10-20k lower than similar condition QVs or carb 308s

The car did present well and sounded spot on during the test drive.

I was just looking back at the pictures of some of the invoices. One from 2016 even mentions the engine caught on fire and I don't think I saw anything in terms of questions or comments about it. Beautiful car either way, hopefully the new owner is active with the community :)

A carbed engine in an updated injected body. Didn't Fran Tarkenton own this car at one point?

It could still use a paint correction. Lots of scratches in the reflections and the paint close-ups are all dusty and hard to really tell.

Yup - cosmetically can be improved, but $40k of mechanical work in last 5 years… that car should be sorted for a while ! Not to mention they’re the dealer selling it so they have to stand behind their work. Can’t argue ignorance about anything in this car.

I'm kinda shocked at the boor bidding on this one. I totally don't get it. That car is sorted out - all the money has been spent to have a mechanically refurbished car, and by a very reputable shop. Weird.

I think it was bid appropriately for a "story car"

Yes, This was the Ex- Fran Tarkenton car. The "Updated injected body" is original, as is the interior. It is one of a handful that left the factory that way. Sure that car had some needs, but it was reasonably bought as well.

Super nice. Rosso Corsa over black seats with red piping might be my favorite color combo for 308s. Good luck with that sale. Hope it gets you the 6 digits it deserves.

I was just drooling over that 308 on BaT -- hope it does well! Nice to see such long term ownership.

Reminds me of how unappreciated Dino's were not that long ago....308 will be the next ones to pop.

Thank you. It's a really nice example.

On a side note, I have some spare parts I accumulated which you may have an interest in from when I had my Boxer.

I'm off to FL on Sunday for a month. I'll reach out when I get back if you want.
