Well My service kit arrived today. Thanks Daniel at Ricambi. I also bought a rebuilt Waterpump from East Coast Jaguar. I plan to do a step by step photo shoot of the whole process. At least thats the plan. I am going to hang the back of my 348 off of my 4 post lift instead of using floor jacks. I already did a dry run of this and it should be no problem at all. The only other real shortcut I am going to attempt, is to leave the air conditioner system alone. I am hoping I can unbolt it from the motor and leave it in place. Has anybody else tried that? Wish me luck
    Mike

I tried to leave my compressor in the car but, IIRC I couldn't get the hoses off or something like that anyway, I remember struggling with it and finally took off with the engine. But maybe someone else can chime in here with a method to do it that I didn't see, wouldn't surprise me if there was some way to do it, I just remember not being able to. Regards, vern

I read somewhere here that you can leave the a/c attached. Must have been posted by Ernie. Thanks in advance for doing the photo thread for the major service.

I have seen it done but do not consider it worth the trouble.

The A/C very probably can benefit from a proper recharge anyway and it is just not all that expensive any more.

I took mine out with the a/c pump still attached to the engine. Just take your car to an a/c shop and have them evacuate the system, it's way easier than dealing with the hanging pump. It's not that it's hard to remove the a/c pump, you can have it disconnected from the engine in about 30 minutes, but the problem is keeping it out of the way of the engine as you raise the car off the subframe. Plus you have to deal with trying not to bend the aluminium pipes that are connected to the pump, it isn't light. As Brian said it's not worth the trouble.
