Here are some shots from Radnor Hunt. I was invited to judge several classes (Veteran class -pre 1918, Post War Historic Race Cars, and Pre War open cars) so I also managed to take about 600 shots that day. This is a phenomenal show on level with Pebble Beach as far as the quality of the cars. Take out the crowds and limit it to only 100 cars, you have a winner. The 2007 show will feature cars from the Mille Miga and Pierce Arrow, I believe. It happens September 9th, 2007. cheers Ken Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
wow that's great! the 8th picture up from the bottom, above the car with the 'My other car is a Ferrari' plate on the back! What a pic! I've been lost in my imagination for ten minutes now just staring at it. What kind of car is that? Do you have any more pics? Old School Mannetino!
That's a 1914 Stellite Roadster. Its one of the cars that I judged. I spoke with the owner for a while, neat guy. Evidently, his grandfather had this exact car. The current owner was in his 70's easy. He started up that car with one swing and it sounded like a sewing machine. You could barely hear the motor. He also had this tiny brushes that came with the oil lamps to clean the wicks! Pretty neat. I don't have alot of pictures of the car. Another interesting one that was in the same class was this 1914 Locomotion Berline Limo. It was built in 1914 and had an air suspension! The gentleman spend over 800 hours on the interior alone which featured signed Tiffany lamps. The car was huge! Amazing to think of the technology in that car. cheers ken Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

There appears to be two Delahayes that are identical, the burgandy and white car at the top and a blue and white car about 1/3rd of the way down. I thought there was only 1 car to this design...

Lovely photos Moca. Some mint looking beauties there. Any chance of high res versions of the 2 Jag "RRU 1" ? They will go nicely with my 2 period photos of the car. Thanks Paul.

There's just something about those oversized, swooping, enclosed, phantom-esque fenders that gives me chills. What beautiful designs...
They wanted to gain momentum before we got to the zenith of the era. Although they all look nice, I don't think I could ever want one of these swooping, curvy cars. No matter what they actually drive like, I can only see these as "cruisers" which doesn't really appeal to me. Oh well, different strokes for different folks. Peter Hatch

the photograph of the stork emblem (4th post; 13th picture on post) is from what automobile? I'm assuming that it is a homage to the 5 French stork squadrons of WWI. If sombody could supply an answer, I would appreciate it. Thanks, As this is my first post.........Hi to everyone, I've been perusing around for a while now, and as a lover of Ferrari's I am very thankful for this sight, and everyone who contributes to it.
That pictures was taken from a Hispano Suiza car, which was an incredible vehicle. Here is what I found out about the Stork: The mascot statuette atop the radiator used by this firm after WWI was the stork of the province of Alsace, taken from the squadron emblem painted on the side of the aircraft of the renowned WWI French ace (and Hispano-Suiza customer) Georges Guynemer, which was powered by an Hispano-Suiza engine. At the time this was an emblem of revanchism. regards Ken ps - I just got back from the Amelia Island concours. What a fabulous event with incredible cars. I will put them in a seperate post. cheers kcv
Thanks Ken! I know of Georges Guynemer, but I did not know he was a customer of Hispano Suiza, or that Hispano Suiza was the maker of their airplane motors. I know now the connection between the car and the squadron emblem was, plus more. thanks for the answer! Andy
