I am about finished doing a comprehensive 15 K service on my 1988 328 GTS ( actual miles 6,000 since the 30 K service 4 years ago ) . Can someone take a look at the list and advise if there is anything else I should do for this service ? I had new Yokohoma S-Drive tires fitted which now I can feel a little bit of yaw when I slightly turn the steering wheel at highway speeds - would this be a signal its time to replace the A-arm bushings . If so what is the least costly source for the parts ?

The fluids were about $100 , the tires and balancing $500 , the rotors $450 , pads $95 , spark plug extension $8 , rear deck struts $75 , air box intake boot $80 , filters $ 85 , gaskets $40 , hoses and clamps $270 . So exempting the tires - about $950 . The coil output/plug wire testing device was about $15 . Retrofitting the A/C system will cost $395 for the York compressor , $80 for the filter/dryer , $100 for the UV leak detection kit , $20 for O-rings/seals and $25 for the R-134 so about $550 expected . I have a vacuum pump and a neighbor the gauges , but auto zone also loans them . I will probably replace the compressor clutch but have not priced it yet . I may do the bushings on all four corners @ $800 expected or may cut some urethane bushings at a shop that builds BUSCH series cars . May rebuild the KONI's which will vary from $100 to $400 depending whether the seals can be sourced . Seals only were available in the 70's and 80's when Koni's were popular on racing motorcycles and internal damping tube clearance can be reset by honing/electroplating if necessary . Not counting on any of that but will do the diligence since its a hobby and have done it some years ago . Otherwise just buying the parts/hiring shock rebuild maybe another $1700 for A/C and suspension DIY . The total bill may come to about $2700 plus compressor clutch cost .The CV and steering boots were in very good condition but would have expected to replace them as well thus not to hard to see a consolidated cost of $3200-$3500 for DIY maintenance . I would guess having a Ferrari specialist shop do all this would be $5000-$7000 . The main surprise so far was the largest ID hose running to and from the bottom of the air box . The largest hose , I don't recall the I.D . maybe 22 mm or 28 mm was not available from Ferrari . I found a hydraulic hose from an International Harvestor truck ( thanks to Carquest cross reference ) fit perfectly on the fittings . The smaller fabric covered hose maybe it was 19mm I.D. with the fabric removed at the ends made a tight fit inside the IH truck hose so it slid inside with a little help from WD-40 . 3M black weatherstrip adhesive does a great job tacking down the fibers so the fabric hose ends don't fray especially for the two short pieces on top of the engine that join the oil vent crossover pipe . Overall this is seems to be a pretty easy car to do superficial maintenance .
