Does anybody know if 16" 328 wheels will fit a 1977 308 without modification?

Incidentally, I was following an earlier thread on wheels and followed-up on a few things. IMHO the Image F40 and 40P wheels look very interesting. Every wheel is built to order, and they offer nice touches such as a ceramic clear coat. Check them out at:

If anybody here has experience of Image wheels I'd like to hear about it.

The rear wheels bolt right on, no issues. The front wheels will bolt on and have the right offset, but the horsie center caps won't fit anymore, because they interfere with the dust caps over the axle nut. You can modify the dust caps so that the horsies then will fit. I have never done the mod, but there is a discussion of it in tech Q&A if you search. So the answer is that the 328 wheels will fit on the 308 with minimal mods.

    Birdman's comments apply to putting non-abs 328 wheels on a 308.

The 328-abs wheels require rather thick (and not inexpensive) adapters (but won't have the dust cap issue).

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about the ABS wheels. The ABS wheels have completely different offsets. The way to tell the difference is that the ABS wheels have a convex, bulbous look. The non-ABS wheels are pretty "flat" in the center part.
