Yeah, without getting into too many details on the specifics of the cars, do you think a 328 + 348 is a good trade for a 360? Assuming the 328 and 348 are in 'good' condition (not 100k mile cars, not 1k mile cars). And if so, what type of a 360 would it get you?

You'd have to give more specifics (age and miles on each along with colors since there's too much disparity to make a general assumption).

I would rather have the 328 & 348 (both fantastic cars) than just 1 360 (another fantastic car), but that's my opinion. I love the 348's.

Definitely need more details. If you look carefully you can find 360's for <$65K that are in decent shape/miles/service/etc. That would be selling the 328+348 a little cheap, IMHO.

Drew- 328 + 348 = 676, so you should be in great shape. Sorry, could not resist.

Two cars in the $30-50K range should equal one car in the $48-80K range, allowing for dealers wanting a 10% break on your trade and a 10% surcharge on their car, or 20%, regardless of how you think of it. Have a feeling you would do better to sell the cars yourself and then be ready with a handful of cash for your 360. Just more of a hassle, obviously.

Not an expert by any means, but I think the value on your 328 and 348 will hold better than the 360. 360's are still going down on the depreciation curve, are they not? If resale/value matter, why trade two stabilized/stabilizing assets for one that is still on the way down?

I doubt 360's will depreciate that much more, at least for a solid car. Then again probably the same for the 328's and the 348's

I have owned both a 348 & a 328 before my current 360 spider. I can assure you, I would gladly give up both for a 360 spider... no comparison in dependability, driving etc.. my 2 cents,

figure a ballpark of the 328 & 348 worth approx $70,000 + or - in real dollars unless something monumental/detrimental is about either. So use that as an idea of what kind of 360 is out there in that price range... a early-mid production 360 modena in good condition, may need servicing.

Again, my 2 cents & is probably meaningless :) Not a day goes by with my 360 spider that I have ever regretted getting rid of the 328.. The 348 was my first and if not for all the stupid design flaws I may of kept that one & been happy.

Thats kind of my logic. I drive my 328 as my daily driver and my 348 is stuck in MA, 1600 miles from me. I love the 328 but I'm kind of done with the little quirks for a daily driver. So I was thinking of getting the 360 to make it easier. I still have another classic that I would keep for when I need that fill. Maybe I'll trade them both in, maybe I'll just buy a cayman and keep the cars. I flip flop daily...

Drew, have you driven a 360? That may help you make your decision easier. I had a 308 and jumped to a 360 and freaking love it. Loved the 308 but would never go back.

I'd say go for the trade. Actually, I would say go for the trade, add a few dollars and get an 02 or 03 360 spider. They are available for $85-95k asking (which I would guess indicates a $80-88k selling range).
Really great cars that would hold up to daily use without much fuss.
    :)

    What about that!

I dropped the TR off for service again this morning. Wasn't running right. I think i'm done with the nuances of the older cars for a little while...

Have you driven a 360 or 430? I think it would make the decision easy.

Yes, driven them both. Love the 430 the most.

my question is not just financial but if people think its worth it. I mean really, giving up three Ferrari's that are either at the bottom of their depreciation or close to it, to buy one highly depreciating asset? If I were an employee somewhere on a fixed income it definitely wouldn't make sense. But my logic is that I own my own business thats growing pretty quickly, so I'll be able to buy the others later in life if I really want them back...

I hope that you're going to buy a six speed manual, if you want less things to worry about.
