    what is the difference in value, if any, between an 88.5 and 89? thanks

    Obviously varies based on the condition of the car, but $5K-$10K additional for an '89, IMO.

    The pricing data are a bit confusing, because most of the cars that were socked away as investments are '89s, whereas the '86-'88 cars seem to have been "used up" and tend to cost less because of this.

    If both are identical, low mileage examples, then the premium might be, at most, 5K. As miles pile on, the premium would diminish, although an 89 is always worth more. I have an 89 GTB myself, but I would not argue that it is that much better than previous years. It's just that many people want the last and supposedly best year. 328's were great from the getgo.

    Not between an '88.5 and '89. It's probably less than $5k, apple to apples. It's larger between '89 and earlier years.

    EDIT: Oops, I just read Hardtop's post, which I agree with to an extent. I think that the '88.5 and '89 cars have changes that make a difference. The rest of the premium for the '89's are probably for the final year and abs appeal.
