As subject, can anyone please advise how it's done?
I watched my mechanic remove mine to install power wiring for a Valentine 1...if I recall, he carefully popped off the small panel with a trim remover then really carefully drilled out two rivets to get the entire piece off. Replaced riots, panel...done.
Thanks very much. I need to check the drain hose. My car got caught in a significant amount of rain in Italy ( more than 10 ins in 24 hours I am told) & there was water ingress. Dried out now & no subsequent issues but I want to see if I can find out how it got in.
The drain hoses are very small, they probably just got overloaded. The trims can be put back on with self-tapping screws rather than rivets in case of future removal.
Found that the drain down the A pillar seems to be metal. Removed the inner wing panel and found that there is a plastic hose that is pushed over the lower end of the metal pipe & that was kinked behind the edge of the inner wing panel. I've never been in there in the 16 years I owned the car so it was probably like that from the factory! Still fighting a leak though. drove the car in the rain today & I've got water under the dash on the RHS (its an RHD car). Not as bad as before though - suspect I need to look at the door and top windscreen seals
