I'm in the middle of rebuilding my York compressor and have everything I need except I noticed one of my piston rods and caps is worn pretty bad. Is there anyone out there who has replaced their compressor that I could buy your piston rods and caps out of? Or does anyone know what common car, make and year, that had a york compressor that maybe I could find one in the Junk yard. Tried to get a new replacment parts, but not available. I've put too much time into rebuilding this one just to scrap it and go get a new one.

    Thanks,
    Chris

I believe the compressor is readily available at NAPA or other parts stores.
The clutch has to be taken off the old compressor.

    Do a search....

NAPA has the part you want. Get NEW not rebuilt.

Or you can convert to a Sanden Rotary if you're going to switch to R134.

Check a local AC shop. They probably have it cheaper than NAPA. The guy I bought my conversion stuff from in Houston had it new for less than NAPA wanted (~$50 less).

    Sean,

I now have the rotary installed in my car and the cold air is fantastic. Far better than the stock York.

Thanks for your help on this project
