The Aircon in my 328 works very well. I last had it re-gassed about 4 years ago (just because.....).

It was working fine before the regas & its worked fine since

Browsing the owners manual it says the Freon and Filter should be changed annually as well as the oil level in the compressor checked.

    So three questions:

What is & where is this filter that should be changed?

Why is it (is it really) necessary to regass the thing annually?

How do I check the oil level in the compressor?

    Heya mate. :):)

You normally DO NOT have to service the A/C annually. :)

The reciever dryer is the filter in question. It catches all the crap in the system and only should be replaced when the system gets a re-gas. Re-gas is really only ever needed when A/C gets hot or when their is a leak in the system. :)

The oil in the compressor can only be checked with the compressor out of the car. When they re-gas an A/C system, they always add/suck oil into the compressor while gasing A/C system. :)

If your A/C is working great, then dont worry about it. :)
