    After reading the Dino color thread and seeing the 328 GTB (US) thread, I am wondering if anyone knows or cares to find the exterior colors on 328's other than Rosso Corsa? I am considering it but if no one cares, I could spend my time pursuing other things. Not what are the other colors, we know that, but trying to find numbers produced of each. Yes, a very large task. One I have interest in though.

    Mine is an 88 GTS 75882 Nero Metallico/Crema US

    A few of us have spent years doing that and we are a long way from knowing the answer. I would say as far as the colors of all the cars I have over half, maybe 2/3 of them. I will say metallic black is fairly rare. Daytona black (plain black) is far more common.

    How can I help? Is it worth this post so people can add to it like the 328 GTB post?

    I have the following percentages in my notes, although I don't know the source for that information:
    Rosso Corsa = 77% of all production
    The two different blacks = 11%, and, as said by Brian, "Nero Metallic" being the more rare of the two (1/3 vs 2/3)
    All other colors = 12%, "Blu Medio Met" and "Rosso Met" being among the rarest (only 6 cars in "Blu Medio Met"?)

    That's the best I can do, and the source is not verified.

    I'll be darned! I thought if a Ferrari wasn't red, the owner was having bodywork done and I was looking at the undercoat for the Rosso Corsa. :D

    Thanks nerofer.
    So after some quick math, of 7412 (7413 if counting the 328 cabrio) 328's produced, here are approximate numbers of what we have at this time.

    Rosso Corsa = 5707
    Nero = 538
    Nero Met = 269
    All other colors = 889
    Blue Medio Met = 6
    Bianco = ?
    Giallo = ?
    Argento Met = ?
    Oro Chiaro Met = ?
    Rosso Met = ?
    Prunga Met = ?
    Blu = ?
    Blu Chiaro Met = ?
    Blu Sera Met = ?
    Azzurro = ?
    Azzurro Met = ?
    Blu Scuro = ?
    Blu Dino Met = ?
    Verde Scuro Met = ?
    Verde Chiaro Met = ?
    Verde Tenue Met = ?
    Grigio Met = ?
    Marrone Met = ?

    All of the colors were taken from this page. http://www.308-328.com/328/328specstylen.html

    As said by Bertrand above (who is a friend, so no surprise that we share some identical ideas from time to time), some of these colors were not available for the 328s:

    To me, you can cross off the above list:
    "Blu" "Blu Scuro" "Blu Dino" and "Azzuro"
    (the four blues available "on catalogue" were, from light to dark: Azzuro Met 505/C; Blu Chiaro Met 503/C; Blu Medio Met 506/C; Blu Sera Met 504/C; note these four are all metallic colors, there was no "solid blue"available)
    "Verde Chiaro Met" 602/C and "Verde Tenue Met" 604/C are indeed listed by some publications (Bluemell, for instance, in his table for 1984-1989 model range) as available (they have a Glasurit reference), but to the best of my knowledge, they were not offered for 328s.

    Note that all colors offered by Glasurit were metallic, except four:
    - Rosso Corsa (300/6 until "about mid 1987", then 300/9.
    - Giallo 102
    - Bianco 100
    - Nero 1240 (sometimes called here and there "Nero Daytona")

    Remember that the "Boxer paint scheme" (= black under the "Plimsol line", to use a nautical term...) was available on special order and we knew of a few GTSs ordered with it, probably nomore than a dozen; we have identified only ONE GTB that MIGHT have been ordered with it, but today is in full Rosso Corsa

    I have in mind "about 150 cars" in Giallo, and "about 200" in Bianco. "Grigio", probably around 100 I would say (entirely my GUESS)
    The other colors are way less than three figures, such as Oro Chiaro, Prugna, Marrone, Verde Scuro, Rosso Met. Oro Chiaro, probably no more than 20...Marrone, Rosso Met, less than 10...

    Usually, a special color in a different paint range (older color, etc...) could have been available on special order, should you be prepared to pay for it and wait more, but whereas there are some examples documented on 308s (The "Rosso Barchetta" 2'valve GTSi car of F-Chat member William Rappaport is one well known example here and fully documented, as he owned the car for 40 years and ordered it new himself in that color) I know of none on 328s.

    OK. Let me pare the list down then. Thank you for your input.

    Rosso Corsa = 5707
    Nero = 538
    Nero Met = 269
    All other colors = 889
    Blue Medio Met = 6
    Bianco = 200?
    Giallo = 150?
    Argento Met = ?
    Oro Chiaro Met = 20?
    Rosso Met = 10?
    Prunga Met = 20?
    Blu Chiaro Met = ?
    Blu Sera Met = ?
    Azzurro Met = ?
    Verde Scuro Met = 20?
    Grigio Met = 100?
    Marrone Met = 10?
    Boxer RC/Nero = 12?

    That means we have approximately 548 (?) cars of the 889 roughly accounted for. So approximately 340 other cars are Argento, Blu Chiaro, Blu Sera and Azzurro.

    Well,

    DISCLAIMER: again nothing definitive, no verifable source, no cross-refernecing possible, so educated GUESSWORK:

    Argento: about 200 I would say, perhaps a little more (250?)
    Blu Sera, about 75 to 100
    Blu Chiaro, about 50
    Azzuro, about 50 to 75

    (the total is more than the missing 341 (889 - 548), but you've got a ballpark; it might be proven wrong - I would be delighted I someone would chime in with the real numbers, and referenced, but that would be a great surprise - but I think these numbers are not very far off the mark)

    OK. I think we all understand that these are guesstimates and not actual numbers Would be great to get real numbers but gotta take what you can get. I am just going to round to the tens. The only one I didn't round was Blu Medio Met at 6. Everything else has a question mark.

    Rosso Corsa = 5710?
    Nero = 540?
    Nero Met = 270?
    All other colors = 890?
    Blue Medio Met = 6
    Bianco = 200?
    Giallo = 150?
    Argento Met = 230?
    Oro Chiaro Met = 20?
    Rosso Met = 10?
    Prunga Met = 20?
    Blu Chiaro Met = 50?
    Blu Sera Met = 90?
    Azzurro Met = 70?
    Verde Scuro Met = 20?
    Grigio Met = 100?
    Marrone Met = 10?
    Boxer RC/Nero = 12?
